About Me

Tess’s main object throughout her medical career has been to educate and to empower the patients to regain their independence. Tess created a unique program that provided step-by-step instructions for the patients to utilize to manage their own dialysis treatment in the comfort and privacy of their homes. Tess is one of the pioneers of Assure as she started in 2003 as a visiting nurse and then was promoted to direct our Clinical Technology and Software implementation initiative quickly became a superuser of Assure’s Electronic Medical Record software.

Tess’s passion continues to strengthen for patient-centered care as she also holds additional responsibilities as one of Assure’s Transitional Care Nurse Managers. Ma. Theresa V. Mahinay or Tess as she prefers to be called started her nursing career as a staff nurse/charge nurse in various skilled nursing facilities in the Chicago land area. She went through extensive training in hemodialysis then proceeded to specialized in peritoneal dialysis. In 2000 Tess took a leadership role in the Lake County clinic under the Renal Care Group.
